Special Storytime and Yoga: Children Ages 3 – 5


The Middlebury Public Library will offer a special yoga and story time for children ages 3 to 5 years old beginning on Thursday, February 20th at 10:15 AM. This program will run for 3 weeks and children must be registered to participate. Yoga poses will be taught in a fun environment to create and re-tell the story of the week. Each week a different book will focus on movement, breathing, and mindfulness, to help little ones become more aware of their bodies and how they interact with the world.

Middle School Masterminds - Create Your Own Board Game




Middle schoolers in grades 5-8, join us Wednesday, January 22nd and 29th at 3:30pm to create a board game for the library.  We will plan and develop a board game and use the 3D Printer to make pieces for the game.  This project will take two sessions, so please plan on being here for both sessions.  When the game is completed library users will be able to check it out!  For more information or to sign up call 203-758-2634 or stop by the Children’s Desk.

Winter Story Time Information




Winter Story Time Information

Winter story time sign up will begin on Monday, January 6th and end on Friday, January 10th. You may sign up at the library or call 203-758-2634 to reserve your child’s spot for the program of your choice. 

All programing will begin the week of January 13th, 2014 and end on May 23rd, 2014.

Moving and Grooving: (1 to 2 years old) - Mondays from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM 

This program will begin on Monday, January 13th and each program will have stories, finger plays, movement and music designed for children ages 1 to 2 years old.  Children must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver and are asked to bring a towel or blanket for sitting on the floor and wear comfortable clothing.

Children must be ONE year old by January 1, 2014.

One Plus One Equals Two: (2 year olds) – Mondays from 10:45 AM to 11:15 AM

This 2 year old program will have age appropriate stories, songs, finger plays and crafts.  Children must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver.

Children must be TWO years old by January 1st, 2014.

Story Time Tales of Adventure: (3 to 5 year olds) – Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM and 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM

This story time program will begin Tuesday, January 14th and run until Tuesday, May 20th.  Parents may choose either Tuesday or Wednesday mornings at 10:30 AM - 11:15 AM or Tuesday or Wednesday afternoons at 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM for children ages three to five years old. Each program will have age appropriate stories, songs, movement and craft activities. This program is designed for children to attend without their parent/caregiver to encourage independence.

Children must be THREE years old by January 14th, 2014.
 
Story Time Drop In – Fridays at 10:30 AM

Everyone is invited to stop in and enjoy stories and music. Children 3 and up will meet Friday mornings starting at 10:30 AM. Children 2 years old may join in if accompanied by an adult.  Registration is not required.   

Book Nook Adventure Readers (Grades 1 – 4) - First Meeting Thursday, January 16th at 4:00 PM

Book Nook Adventure Readers is open to any student in grades 1 – 4. This group will meet twice a month at the Middlebury Public Library for a book discussion and book related activity. The library will provide books for the students 2 weeks before each meeting.   Registration is required and you may stop by the library or call 203-758-2634 to reserve your spot.
